CSL Important Info
You need to be aware that the CSL examination is developed, administered, graded and reported by an independent contractor under agreement with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. This contractor requires a completed Application to take the examination, for a fee, which must be sent with the application for the examination. This is to be completed the night of the first class. That check is made payable to the INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR THAT HAS BEEN SELECTED BY THE COMMONWEALTH OF MASSACHUSETTS. THE INDEPENDENT CONTRATOR must receive your check with your application in order for you to be admitted to the test center. THE INDEPENDENT CONTRATOR will notify you of the date, time and place of the examination for which you have registered. The exam grade IS MADE AVAILABLE TO YOU BY THE INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR.
IT IS ALSO OUR UNDERSTANDING THAT ALL EXAMINATIONS WILL BE GIVEN VIA COMPUTER TERMINAL.
IT OUR UNDERSTANDING THAT THE EXAMINATION WILL BE GRADED UPON COMPLETION OF THE EXAMINATION AND THE CANDIDATE WILL BE IMMEDIATELY MADE AWARE OF THE GRADE THAT WAS ATTAINED.
IT IS OUR UNDERSTANDING THAT THE CSL EXAMINATIONS WILL BE OFFERED AT VARIOUS TESTING CENTERS THROUGHOUT THE COMMONWEALTH 5 DAYS PER WEEK, DURING NORMAL BUSINESS HOURS. THE PRACTICE OF HAVING 4 CSL EXAMS PER YEAR IN LARGE TESTING CENTERS, USING “PAPER AND PENCIL” EXAMINATIONS HAS BEEN TERMINATED.
Currently we are working with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Building Code-Version 6. An upgrade to this code, to be known as Version 7, is being developed. It is unclear as to how soon Version 7 will adopted. For the time being, studies and tests will be based on the current version.
It is expected that the 2006 examinations in will be based on the Massachusetts Building Code, Sixth Edition, until we are notified that the Seventh Edition is to be used.
We provide a warranty for you to repeat the class one time, for free, if you attend all the classes for all the hours, completed all homework assignments, took the first examination after the completion date of the last class session, used all the time provided for the examination and failed the test. You must notify us in writing, prior to the “Registration Close Date,” of the next class that we offer, that you intend to exercise your right to repeat the class free of charge. If you fail to appear for the first session of that class, your rights to a free repeated class will be deemed to be null and void.
